Abdominoplasty before & after

An abdominoplasty is performed under general anesthesia and usually takes two to three hours. The plastic surgeon makes a horizontal incision slightly above the pubic area and just below the bikini line. Next, the skin and fat are loosened at the level of the rib arch. In a major abdominoplasty, the plastic surgeon relocates and repositions the navel. If stretching of the abdominal muscles (diastasis) is present, they are brought back together in their original place and sutured (reefing). Excess skin and fatty tissue is also excised. After surgery, fluid may leak from the wound, for which two thin tubes (drains) are temporarily inserted until no more fluid comes out of the wound. At that point, these tubes can be removed.

If you are considering having a tummy tuck, we understand that you are wondering what the results will look like. Therefore, Blooming Plastic Surgery offers before and after photos of patients who have undergone this procedure. These photos can be enlarged and will give you a better idea of the results that can be achieved with this treatment. We believe it is important for our patients to be well-informed before making a decision about their treatment, and we want to make sure you feel comfortable with your tummy tuck decision. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or would like more information about this procedure.
