After completing his doctoral research at the University of Amsterdam in 2002 and graduating cum laude from the same university in 2004, Dr. Menno Huikeshoven followed the specialization to become a Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgeon from 2005-2010 at the AMC in Amsterdam, Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital / Dutch Cancer Institute in Amsterdam and the Rode Kruis Hospital in Beverwijk. During this training, he also became a Fellow of the “European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS)” by passing the European exams required for this purpose in 2009. After this, he left with his family for Vancouver, Canada, where two fellowships included further specializing in facial surgery. After successfully completing these fellowships, he was asked to stay in longer Vancouver and there he then worked as a staff member of Plastic Surgery at Vancouver General Hospital from 2011 to 2013.

In 2013, he returned to the Netherlands with his family and since then he and his fellow Plastic Surgeons at Kliniek Blooming have been working at the Spaarne Gasthuis in Haarlem and Rode Kruis Ziekenhuis in Beverwijk. He lives with his family in Haarlem.
