“An open consultation about the results that we can achieve”
The intake consultation is a time of introduction in which we can openly and confidentially talk to you about the result you want and we can achieve. We provide you with all the information you need about all aspects of the procedure and answer all of your questions. Your intake consultation will always be conducted by the treating surgeon. You will receive all the information required about the treatment, preparation for the treatment and the follow-up care. The cost of the first consultation at Blooming Clinic is €50. This amount will be deducted from the cost of your treatment.

“Isn’t quality the most important thing?”
We are just like you. If we want to undergo surgical treatment, we will look for the best surgeon around. We are proud that, once again, we have been declared the best plastic surgical team in the Netherlands. This means you can expect to receive all the quality, care and attention you require. This is in contrast to the fast commercial clinics that seem to have appeared as if out of nowhere. These clinics don’t always keep their promises. We continue to strive to deliver the highest possible quality.
“Follow-up care like it should be”
Being well informed before the procedure is essential. You can expect the best treatment to be carried out with quality, care and attention by one of our plastic surgeons. Optimum follow-up care is a very important part of this. For every treatment, we investigate which follow-up care will achieve the best result. Therefore, we often decide to keep you with us overnight in the hospital at RKZ Beverwijk. We can then monitor your recovery and avoid unnecessary complications. When you are discharged, we will also schedule an appointment (often within 2 weeks) with you for an outpatient consultation with your plastic surgeon. We guide you where necessary. Afterwards, depending on the procedure and the follow-up care required, you will be treated on an outpatient basis. The check-up appointments can take place either at the Blooming Clinic or the Red Cross Hospital in Beverwijk.
If you suffer from unusual pain, redness, fever, or any other unusual symptoms, you can contact us 24 hours a day. Your plastic surgeon or the plastic surgeon on duty will be reachable via our clinic during the day on +31(0)23 5444974 or via the number for outpatient plastic surgery at the hospital at the Red Cross Hospital in Beverwijk on +31(0)251 265355. You can contact us via the front desk at the hospital at the Red Cross Hospital in Beverwijk on +31(0)251 265555.
We are here for you if you need us! Also, if you have any questions or doubts about the treatment offered by someone else, you can always come to us for a second opinion.
Terms and Conditions of Blooming Clinic:
Only BIG registered plastic surgeons who are members of the NVPC are allowed to work at Blooming Clinic. No invasive acts will be carried out by general physicians, cosmetic physicians or otherwise. All treatments will be carried out by certified plastic surgeons. We work according to the NVPC guiding principles for private clinics, in which the level of quality that clinics must meet is described. This can be found at http://www.bloemingdael.nl/uploads/files/definitieve_leidraad_nvpc_versie_1_november_201190.pdf
In some cases, there are restrictions to the treatments we can carry out. This is to reduce the risk of complications, as well as to comply with the code of conduct drawn up by the NVPC. Specific restrictions will also apply to specific cases, and these are not described here. For example, a plastic surgeon in Blooming Clinic will not carry out a request if there is a medical risk or it involves an unethical act as a basic rule, the following shall apply:
- no cosmetic procedures will be carried out on patients under 18 years of age
- no surgical procedures will be carried out on patients with a Body Mass Index of more than 32
- no facelifts or open subcutaneous forehead lifts will be carried out on smokers. (Note: it is the responsibility of the patient to be honest during the intake consultation).
- people with known body dismorphic disorder or other psychiatric illnesses that could affect their mental competency will, in principle, not be treated
- no surgical procedures will be carried out on patients with hard evidence of using blood thinners
In accordance with the directive, Blooming Clinic applies a “cooling off” period between the consultation and any surgical procedure. This is to prevent people ‘rushing in’, being inadequately informed or starting a particular treatment without being given sufficient time to think. That means that it is common practice to see patients a second time after the first consultation. If people do not want to come to the clinic, this can be done over the phone one week later.
Informed consent means that a patient consents to a certain clinical examination and/or a particular treatment, after having been informed in advance by an expert. In Blooming Clinic patients do not have to sign-up for anything at this point. We believe it is very important to provide you with all the information you need. We pay a lot of time and attention to informing our patients about the pros and cons of a surgical procedure. In addition, we attach great importance to ensuring that the patient understands the risks attached to a particular treatment, and we also try to find out the extent to which the expectations of a patient are realistic. If we believe that the patient has unrealistic expectations, we will not treat the patient.
Blooming Clinic has one surgical room where minor surgery can be carried out without implants. In practice, only eyelid corrective surgery, occasionally labia corrections or mole removal, botox and other injectables are carried out here. All other forms of surgery, and all surgery carried out under a general anaesthetic, will be carried out at the hospital at the Red Cross Hospital in Beverwijk or the Kennemer Hospital in Haarlem. Here, patients are first screened according to the pre-operative anaesthesia policy of the relevant hospital.
It is common for this to include an overnight stay at the hospital for observation and control:
- breast enlargement
- breast lift
- tummy tuck
- thigh lift
The following procedures may, depending on the extent, be carried out as day treatment:
- forehead lift
- arm lift
