Drs. Robert de Wijn (b. 1982) studied medicine in Utrecht, during which he spent half a year twice in South African trauma surgery in Johannesburg and Cape Town. After this, he followed specialization in plastic, reconstructive and hand surgery at the Academic Medical Center Amsterdam, Rode Kruis Hospital Beverwijk and the NKI/Antoni van Leeuwenhoek. During this period, he passed the exams for European certification in plastic surgery (EBOPRAS) and hand surgery (FESSH).

After training as a plastic surgeon, he further specialized through a fellowship from the Erasmus Medical Center and worked as a plastic surgery staff member at the OLVG and AMC. From 2016 to 2017, he lived in Sydney to work at an internationally renowned clinic and gain experience with the latest developments in cosmetic surgery.
