Kalam Ahmed has worked as a plastic surgeon since 2009 and is affiliated with the Red Cross Hospital Beverwijk and Spaarne Gasthuis plastic surgery partnership in Haarlem. He received his medical training at VUMC and then completed his advanced training in plastic surgery at Amsterdam Medical Center, Red Cross Hospital and Antonie van Leeuwenhoek Hospital. In 2008, he obtained his European Certification (EBOPRAS). He also attends national and international conferences very regularly to stay fully abreast of the latest developments.

In 2014, he and a team from Doctors of the World undertook a very successful mission to Bangladesh (congenital defects operated on as lip and palate clefts, and hand defects, as well as reconstructions all over the body after burns). He was asked again for the 2015 mission, and again in 2016, Drs. Ahmed on a mission.

Plastic surgery is a passion for him in which he can express his creativity and skill. From the intake to the operating table, it is a partnership he establishes with the client. Together with the client, he works to achieve the best possible result. In doing so, he likes to think from the patient’s point of view and will at all times give a real picture of the situation.
